Constructive Dialogue, Feedback and Conflict Management


Overview
People will not modify their actions in any meaningful way unless they believe it is in their best interest to do so.  The most beneficial process to identify and devise plans to resolve difficult issues is through dialogue.

Constructive dialogue advocates a:
  • thoughtful exploration of intention (true purpose for the dialogue)
  • shared assessment of the dynamic nature of issues, and a respectful and collaborative search for positive solutions

Course Outcomes
  • To get clarity about the nature of constructive dialogue
  • To present a constructive dialogue model

Course Content
1.   Clearly define and articulate the meaning of constructive dialogue
2.   Opportunities for constructive dialogue
3.   Constructive dialogue model
4.   Get clarity about the purpose of the dialogue
5.   Inquire and listen
6.   Strategically responds to strong emotions and reactions
7.   Collaboratively design action plans that have obtainable and measurable results
8.   Implement strategies to ensure accountability
